Preparing and Sharing

Today we prepared the food we gathered from our garden yesterday. We made coleslaw from cabbages, carrots, and spring onions. We also cut up some a capsicum for everyone to try.
A group of enthusiastic helpers chopped, sliced, grated, and mixed, before serving coleslaw sandwiches to the school.  The coleslaw was a huge hit, with several children coming back for seconds.

Splendid Sunflowers

The Envirogroup planted some sunflower seeds at the end of last year and look at what greeted us when we arrived back at school this year.

A New School Year

Today the Enviroschool group meet for the first time this year.  There was a huge turn out of over 30 children who are keen to help with our Enviro garden and keeping our school looking fantastic.
We checked the progress of our crop and have decided to begin the year with a feast.  We are going to make coleslaw for lunch on Friday and next week we are going to enjoy some corn on the cob. Yummy!

Christmas Holiday Gardening

The garden still needed some love and attention over the Christmas holidays. Mrs Kitto had two fantastic helpers who spent several hours in the garden, thinning the carrots, watering and weeding.
